Kimberly Hood Cause of Death – Obituary Whitman, Massachusetts: Family and friends mourn the loss of Kimberly Hood

Kimberly A. Hood, 27, of Carver, Massachusetts, passed away suddenly on December 11, 2015. Born to Joseph and Patricia Hood, Kimberly was a devoted mother to her son, Alexander Joseph Young, and a cherished sister to Victoria (Hood) Tibbetts and her husband Jason of Hanson, and Joseph Hood and his wife Kathleen of Plymouth. She was also a beloved aunt to Isabella and Lucas.

Kimberly’s life was marked by her deep love for her family and her vibrant spirit. Her sudden passing left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew her.

Tragically, nearly a decade later, her son, Alexander Joseph Young, 11, of Whitman, Massachusetts, passed away on April 12, 2025. Alexander was a proud member of Boy Scout Troop 22 in Whitman, played in the Whitman Little League, and was part of a youth bowling league at Timber Lanes in Abington. He had a deep fascination with trains and high-end cars, and cherished memories of traveling with his family, including a Make-A-Wish trip to New York City and a special ride in his Uncle Charlie’s Porsche 911.

Alexander is survived by his devoted father, Eric Young of Whitman; his grandparents, Kathleen and Donald Young of Whitman, and Patricia and Joseph Hood of Carver; his Aunt Victoria (Hood) Tibbetts and her husband Jason of Hanson; his Uncle Joseph Hood and his wife Kathleen of Plymouth; and his cousins, Bella and Lucas. He was predeceased by his mother, Kimberly Hood.

Visiting hours for Alexander will be held on Wednesday, April 16, from 4:00–7:00 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary) in Whitman. A funeral procession will depart from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel on Thursday, April 17, at 9:45 AM, followed by a prayer service at 10:30 AM at Holy Ghost Church in Whitman. Burial will take place at Blue Hills Cemetery, 700 West Street, Braintree.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Team Siena, where Alexander was honored as their Pedal Partner for the Pan-Mass Challenge. The PMC donates 100% of every rider-raised dollar to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Kimberly and Alexander’s memories will forever be cherished by their family and friends.
